How Catholic Charities is Feeding Vegas and Beyond

Whether we see it or not, people in many of our communities face food insecurity. In Southern Nevada alone, approximately 1 in 7 people are plagued by this difficulty. That’s why, at Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada we focus on aiding our community, specifically through our Feed Vegas food assistance initiative. This initiative focuses on garnering donations to provide a yearly community celebration and meal in the St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility.

Beyond this event, we continue to feed Las Vegas and Southern Nevada through our daily meal services at the St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility, Meals on Wheels, the Hands of Hope Food Pantry, and the WIC food program. 

Our Food Services

Our Meals on Wheels program delivers seven nutritious meals each week and does a weekly check-in with over 2,000 homebound seniors. The Hands of Hope Community Food Pantry provides a monthly opportunity for clients to stock up on grocery necessities, including fresh produce.

At the dining facility, we share a community meal each day from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and also provide a daily meal to those living in the St. Vincent Apartments and men in our Renewing Hope Program. For our WIC recipient clients, we offer this federally funded program and assist with applying or seeing if you or a loved one are eligible for this program.

With our programs to combat food insecurity, we share love and build up our community through service.

Community Service Beyond Food

Aside from hunger relief, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada is dedicated to helping our community in whichever way we can. We offer free English language programs, housing assistance, citizenship courses, migration and refugee services, youth mentorship programs, and more. Thanks to our generous volunteers and donors, we are able to aid over 4,000 people daily in the Las Vegas area.
