Men’s Emergency Night Shelter Renovation
WHAT: Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada (CCSN)will host a special media tour as it completes the finishing touches on its newly renovated Emergency Night Shelter for Men. Currently at about 90 percent complete, the shelter recently received afresh overhaul, including an expansion in shower capacity and restrooms, new plumbing, fixtures, new HVAC, new flooring, reused steel by powder coating existing beds and new paint, so that clients from the Las Vegas homeless population could be better served and have more chances for achieving self-sufficiency.
CCSN’s shelter is open every night of the year and can accommodate 400 individuals. Case management is available on-site to provide access to community resources, and grant essential provisions like hygiene items and clothing.
Catholic Charities officials will be available to discuss why the renovations were necessary and how the ongoing service plays a part in solving wider housing issues in Southern Nevada.
